SelfmadeSaints is an ongoing series of portraits, centering around people out of the artists social environment. The artist equips the protagonists with a tool that allows them to become divine. This is simply achieved by focusing a flashlight on their head, hence creating a halo.
The project deals with the democratization of being a star in our new media society and the divinity of the individual. It also refers to the catholic heritage of the artist, who grew up in the contryside of southern Austria.


Viktor Thomas Kröll (*1979) is an artist and conceptionist currently based in Vienna. He studied Information Design in Graz, Austria. Teachers were Jörg Schlick, Martin Osterider and Orhan Kipcak. From 2002 until 2009 he worked for several leading advertising agencies in Vienna. Since 2009 he is a freelance artist and conceptionist. Maintopic of his work: the democratiszation of divinity.
